L Located inside the municipality’s historic Northern Pantheon, the Celaya Mummy Museum offers a unique and moving experience that connects visitors with a little-known part of the local past. This museum houses 24 naturally mummified bodies, distributed across two exhibition halls, where visitors can appreciate the surprising preservation process that has endured over time thanks to the region’s specific subsoil conditions.

Beyond the macabre, the museum invites reflection on history, life, and death, presenting visitors with fragments of Celaya’s cultural identity through the remains of people who once walked these lands.
