T The José María Morelos Market in Celaya is an architectural gem of the Porfiriato, built between 1903 and 1906 by Ernesto Brunel.

Originally named after Joaquín Obregón González, the state’s governor at the time of its inauguration, its tower houses a mechanical clock with weights that has continued to keep time for over a century.
